About You
The week was structured very well. I felt that I really got a feel of what the company's culture and values are and I gained a much better understanding of what technology is all about and what it would be like working in consulting. I would highly recommend apply for this week,
I felt extremely values throughout the whole week. I felt like KPMG and the people here wanted me to do well and I felt very welcomed from day 1. Everyone was very happy to answer any questions and I had the chance to network with a lot of people, from graduates to partners.
I received a lot of guidance throughout the week, especially as I was unsure when I was choosing my preference of sectors that I would be keen on joining. I think that the structure of the week really allowed me to ask as many questions as I could think of and everyone was very helpful and understanding that I needed that guidance at the start of my career.
As I study mathematics and economics I think that some of the skills won't be relevant to my studies. However, I know that the presentations skills, personal brand and 1st impressions sessions will be invaluable throughout my career and I am really glad that I have the chance to develop these skills from the very beginning.
The Company
The insight was very well structured. We had a chance to network, work-shadow, participate in team exercises, be assessed, learn and develop important skills and really get a feel of what it would be like to work at KPMG and in technology in general. 5 days was also a very good amount of time to fit everything in.
The atmosphere of the week was really good. There was such a diverse group of people and it was really fun and interesting getting to know everyone. As everyone became more comfortable with each other and after the assessment was completed, the atmosphere became quite fun.
KPMG invested a lot of time into providing us with skills sessions in order to help us develop our professional and personal skills. We worked on presentations and personal brand etc
The insight really helped me understand what it would be like to work at KPMG. Especially as we had a day of work-shadowing people who work at different levels of the company.
I got a really good feel of the company culture. Everyone was really friendly, driven and seemed to be pushing each other to be the best as a team.
The content was extremely useful in helping me decide my future career. I have been able to confirm that I would like to be a technology consultant.
Everything Else
I was paid a decent salary for the week which covered my accommodation expenses and I was reimbursed for my travel expenses.
We got to network throughout the event - at the dinner, work-shadowing and there was even a networking event with people on the graduate programme. We also got to network with speakers.
They were relaxed and made it easy for us to ask questions.
We found out about different societies and networking groups, however this could have been emphasised more.
I would definitely recommend this insight to a friend. I learnt a lot and it was really good to start creating my network within KPMG.
