About You
I would say it this insight week gave me the best experience I had, The people you will work with are very down to earth and so helpful with all of our curiosities on Technology and its future. This programme is packed with many skills sessions mainly around presenting, which I found really useful. We also had the opportunity to shadow a worker in Technology for a day.
People are very valued in KPMG. Everyone, including the senior managers, directors and Partners were so humble and modest. This friendly environment encourage us students to be brave and to conquer our fears talking and working with someone above your level. I like the fact that the management was not hierarchical and the close knit community has definitely made me feel at ease whilst working here for the past 5 days,
For me, being a first year student with little or zero knowledge of the industry have had me anxious before the insight programme has even started, Nevertheless, the guidance and support you will receive is always there for you to reach out for; and I find this really helpful as the friendly environment here have encouraged me to not be afraid of asking questions and learn more about the department.
As an introvert I would say that this programme has definitely helped me with confidence. I find these skills sessions really helpful as I have brushed my presenting and communicating skills. There were business challenges were we have to present within 5 minutes allowed us to collaborate with one another and work under pressure.
The Company
The insight week was filled with 2 days of skills sessions and networking events, a day of assessment and a day of business challenge. Although I found it really eventful, I'd wish there were 2 days of work shadowing we could do.
The general atmosphere here was relaxed and friendly. Everyone was really helpful with your curiosity
Although we were only here for 5 days, we were given simulated business challenges and various skills sessions to enhance our skills which are relevant to our future
We were only given a day of work shadowing and I personally felt that it was more than enough for shadowing a graduate/senior manager/ director under a department
Everything Else
Yes! and we had the chance to network with several partners as well
