About You
I really enjoyed this insight week and I think it gave me the opportunity to really understand what working at KPMG would be like.
I thought KPMG went above and beyond to make us feel like actual employees, we were given the standard company lunch money, money for travel and a salary for the week. All the staff I spoke to were happy to answer any questions I had. On the work shadowing day I felt particularly valued and was even given the opportunity to assist on a small project.
We received a lot of support throughout the week, I was never left alone with nothing to do, even on the work shadowing day when the team I was shadowing were very busy.
The information on presenting and on personal brand was excellent and something I will definitely carry forward at university and in later life. The information on different areas of technology was also really useful and provided me with the information I needed to decided whether I wanted a career in tech.
The Company
The insight week was very well structured, the first day was very information heavy but other than this I thought the balance of practical work and information was excellent.
Both the KPMG staff and the other students on the programme were very friendly. KPMG didn't try too foster a overly competitive atmosphere but focused more on working in teams and getting the best out of each other.
They invested in our presentation skills heavily and in helping us to think about a personal brand.
The insight week really showed you what it would be like to work at KPMG.
the shadowing day really reflected the company culture and this mirrored what we had learnt in the other sessions.
the content really made me think about what I want to do and gave me a better insight in to the tech career
Everything Else
They really went the extra mile on the money front.
Yes there were plenty of opportunities to network and mingle with employees from the tech and other departments.
they were really enjoyable, relaxed but professional at the same time
Yes - sports clubs, volunteering, there seems to be a lot on offer
I have already recommended it to my sister
