About You
The insight week for Females in Technology was very enjoyable, it changed your preception of what the Technology department is. Would gladly try and join any other future events.
I felt very valued by all KPMG emplyees that I have met during the week, all the way from Graduates to Senior Partners. Everyone is very welcoming and very freindly. Finding out that they really value young future emplyees was really great
There was always someone around to ask for help and suppport for any task we were tasked with and it was very easy to go to someone ask for their help.
Attending the skills workshop during the week was a great bonus to the insight week as these skills are not only required to join KPMG but it will help me during completing my dree and in future interviews and jobs. The presentation skills and personal brand were the most important as these are required in life.
The Company
The insight week is very well structured, We were always kept busy, we had breaks at the right time and key speakers throughout the day to give us more of an insight of what KPMG is about and what kind of work they do. On the first day being introduced to the 6 different departments within Technology was a great start of the week as you try to find out which department is the most suitable to you as a person and as a skill set
The general atmosphere within the insight group was amazing, everyone was very friendly and welcoming. And this atmosphere was extended throughout the firm with anyone you meet is very friendly and welcoming and speaking very highly of KPMG and their focus on the people rather than the firm.
Their main investment in me was providing us the Skills workshop which covered personal brand, personal capabilities, presentation skills and more! Also giving us the chance to shadow an employee for a whole day allows you to pick up more information. Finding out that KPMG invests heavily in their employees by giving them the chance to do courses to pick up new skills such as coding is really amazing.
The insight week gave us a sliver what it would be like to work for KPMG. The general understanding was that it is a lot of work, but working in such a friendly and open environment where there is no obvious heirachy between employees, in terms of treatment, does help witht he work load. Of course joining the vacation programme will give a greater insight into what it is like to work at KPMG.
It helped a lot in understandint the company culture, The company really cares about the people and how their employees are being treated and trying their best to make sure their working at KPMG is the most comfertable and enjoyable.
It was very valuable, Finding out that no technical skills are required to joing the Technology department is great and findng out that no matter what department you join you can always further imporve your skill set to do your job even better.
Everything Else
We get paid for the week that we spent and we were reimbursed for our travel expenses. Lunch is provided by KPMG.
Everyday there was always an opportunity to network with other employees by having dinner one day, the works shadowing day and so on
There were perfect! The right people were invited along to make sure any questions we have can be answered correctly
There are sporting and social clubs that employees can get involved in outside of work. This is great as it creats a sense of community within the company
I would definetly recommend it, I have already recommended a few of friends that might be interested. I also recommended the company as a whole.
