About You
I really enjoyed the program, because it gave me real feel of the company culture and the people. The activities were really useful, we were taught important skills such as personal brand creation, presentation skills and how to create good first impressions. It was inspiring to see so many women wanting to pursue a career in technology, and made me further appreciate the extent to which technology is a growing sector.
I felt really valued during the week, especially during work shadowing day. The person I shadowed took my opinions on board and really appreciated my feedback which was nice, as I had no prior knowledge, apart from what I'd learn in the previous two days of the program. The company made me feel very included as they were welcoming and friendly through the entire week.
I received lots of guidance and feedback during the insight, on my presentation skills and first impressions. We had a session on the first day about introductions, and we got feedback on our first impressions from other people on the program. We also had an assessed exercise, in order to gain a fast track to KPMG's summer vacation scheme, which we will receive feedback on later.
We had three skills sessions during the one week program, all of which were very useful. I definitely developed my communication skills through the sheer number of times I had to introduce myself to KPMG colleagues as well as other students on the program. The presentation skills we picked up will help throughout the rest of my life, to do presentations at university and later in my career.
The Company
There was a clear plan through out the week, we were told the agenda for the whole week on the first day, as well as at the beginning of each new day. The first day was very information heavy, perhaps because it needed to be, however may splitting up the talks with an interactive session between each one would be better,
Very good atmosphere, everyone was really inspiring
They held a lot of development sessions for our personal impact, branding and public speaking skills.
I really got a real feel for the company atmosphere which was friendly and welcoming, in just one week, through talking to lots of current employees
I got an idea of the company culture, mainly through talking to the people there.
Definitely helped me decide that tech consulting is something I want to do in the future! I was provided a lot of info on all the different areas within the tech division which was very insightful.
Everything Else
Yes, plenty!
Would absolutely recommend it - gives you a real insight into the company, the people and what it would be like to work at the firm.
