The Role
I really enjoyed the placement - I found the work interesting and the office a really great place to work
Everyone was really friendly and as interns we were invited to lots of events that were being organised
The support abnd guidance was really good. Everyone was really helpful when I asked questions and no one seemed to mind if I didn't understand something or if I need instructions repeated
It varied from day to day but I could have perhaps had a little more work towards the end of the placement when things were winding down
I felt I was was given time to get on with my task and then when I was finished someone would check it.
I definately feel I learnt a lot, both on a technical level (ie learning much more about the industry and different software) and about working in a proffesional environment
The Company
The atmosphere was friendly, but it did get a bit quiet when all the students were on study days
The internship was very well organised, we were given intern projects to work on in between our day to day work and all the interns across the uk met up 3 times during the internship
My supervisors took a lot of time explaining how the industry worked, there were several induction days and we even invited to lunch with some senior members of the company so we could find out about the work at a senior level
Company Parties/Events
I was offered a job as were the other three interns in my office
The Culture
The were a lot of events that involved free food and drink. The grads would also invite us if they had planned any events outside work or if they were all going out to lunch
London was fairly expensive - but luckily at any of the company events people would buy the interns drinks
the area I was working was mainly offices and so didn't have much of a night life but London in general has a great nightlife
There were quite a few sporting events and also there were celebration drinks for qualifications & promotions
