The Role
A lot of reading at the start, but once the knowledge was picked-up, its was quite easy to make a real contribution
The start may be a bit tricky since everyone is measuring you, but after a few days, everyone gave a lot of support and were always ready to help in any doubt
It is a bit difficult to get feedback/support if you have a busy line manager, but if you track him down you do get the help you need.
There are times of great activity, and times there wasn't much to do. But most of the time is very well balanced and you get enough time for everything
I was lucky to be placed into 2 projects related to emergencies in service, so quite a lot of responsability there...
The systems engineering knowledge that i gained were very, very useful in organising uni work once i was back
The Company
There were well balanced times of a bit of a laugh and serious work
I got a final year project with them, so a lot of investment there...
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
The Culture
The city centre is a bit expensive, and trying to find a house is almost impossible if you are trying to find a house for a summer placement
