The Role
Very enjoyable. Plenty of work and challenges for those that ask for it Fantastic grad and intern community
I was in a team with only 2 other people so I was valued immensely as I had to do 'real' work from day one as otherwise the team would have no been able to cope not sure if this would have been the same if it was a larger team
help always available if I needed it for both soft and technical aspects of the role from line managers HODs and directors
depends on the time of the month but never too much that I was particularly stressed out
a lot of responsibility from day one. it helped that my team was small so they had to utilise my skills otherwise the team would fall behind on its workload
lots of excel and analytical skills which will come in handy when I move into a grad position im sure
The Company
virgin media has a fantastic company culture particularly if you are based in one of its call centres
organised well within my team - I was afforded plenty of opportunities to do what I wanted to do. organisation from the more centralised grads and intern team was poor at times with infrequent contact
not a lot of structured training, learnt on the job. but that's what suited me the best. im sure if I had asked for more formal training I would have received it
Flexi Time
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
my head of department is looking into the best way of bringing me back after I graduate
The Culture
good community especially if you're based in hook where most of the grads and interns are
lived at home - Birmingham is pretty cheap though
Birmingham has loads of clubs and bars
sports teams etc
