The Role
Intel is a great company to work for that heavily invests in its interns and puts a lot of effort into creating a Intern community, making it a great place to work.
At Intel you get given real responsibilities and duties to perform regardless of department or role. This means the work you do is important and you are respected by fellow workers. Basically you will not be making tea and coffee.
I cannot fault the help and support I have received from not just supervisors but everyone at Intel. Intel encourages an open door policy meaning you can talk to anyone about anything. I cannot stress enough how much you are valued as an Intern.
The workload is good and I have never felt like I have had to do much and the opportunity is always there to do more should you wish.
Personally I feel as though I have been given a lot of responsibility. At first this was a bit daunting, however being thrown in the deep end from the start is a good way to learn and will help you develop skills within the workplace quickly.
The skills I have picked up, developed and refined at Intel will I'm sure serve me very well for the rest of my working life.
The Company
The atmosphere within the office is friendly and relaxed, while retaining the professionalism that you'd expect from a large MNC. Everyone is very friendly and more than happy to help.
The amount Intel invests into its intern program, not just in terms of money but also with regards to the atmosphere they create for interns to be a part of is astounding. From the get go you know Intel is a company that knows how to organise and derive the best work from their interns, as well as providing great opportunities for socialising but within and outside the office.
To put it simply, Intel invest an insane amount in training interns. They also give you the opportunity to expand your learning into a multitude of areas across the business so how much you want to learn is up to you !

If Intel offered me employment after my degree, there is no chance I would turn it down.
The Culture
The best I could ever imagine, they want you to work hard and play hard.
Relative to places such as London and Birmingham living costs such as rent, food and nights out are cheap.
There are a lot of good bars in Swindon, but not many clubs. However Bristol is about 30 mins away on the train so there are plenty of options.
Plenty !
