The Role
I had a fantastic time during my placement. I had the opportunities to travel not only England but other countries, meet new and interesting people in the games industry, and experience a very fulfilling role.
I felt like was a full-time member of the team in most occasions. I was included in the majority of discussions regarding what was going on in the industry and the workplace.
Whenever I needed support it was always there to be given., my supervisor was always at hand to assist me in any projects I had. Continually giving me information and advice.
The things I was working on changed daily, there was never a dull day. Always something new to be working on, as long as you wanted to busy you could be. It was a very self-directed role.
I had a lot of major responsibilities during my placement, from training new-hire to managing and developing large projects.
All these activities have lead me to develop a plethora of my skills which I will use in my future work life.
The Company
I was in a very nice office environment, very casual yet still professional. All the equipment I needed to be successful in my role was readily available.
We were mostly treated like normal employees, no special treatment in terms of a set-up specific for the work-placement.
I had access to a variety of tools and opportunities which allowed to me to further develop my skills.

I would love to continue my career at Intel following graduation, however I would like it to be at a different capacity with more responsibilities.
The Culture
Due to the GPTW scheme there were a lot of events where the colleagues could each interact with each other outside of an office space.
It was reasonably high, I had limited expendable income.
There was a strong Student nightlife presence in Reading.
Yes, as mentioned above the GPTW scheme allowed colleagues to socialise outside of the workplace.
