The Role
Some pieces of work were boring, but a lot of it was more interesting than I expected.
Everyone takes the time to help you out when your stuck and explain what to do. There was always plenty of work available to do.
I had a Line Manager who worked part time, and we meet 4 times during the 9 week placement to discuss the placement. Although, there was not much to discuss and I didnt need much support. I knew they were there if I needed them.
Always kept busy, but never too busy. Never arrived early or worked past 5.15, and occaionally took a shorter lunch time. On one occasion there was no work to do for an afternoon.
You are given a lot of different jobs to do, but none are that difficult and everything you do that is going to the client gets checked by at least 2 others. You get more responsibility as you go along.
Not a lot as my degree has nothing to do with my degree
The Company
People were generally hard working, but there was also chatting etc going on. Everyone was very friendly.
It was very well organised. Arived any everything was sorted, had some but not much training, and there was always support available
A bit but not loads. As we were only there for 6 weeks initially, there was no point sending us on long training, so we had a day of it. Then the rest was learning as you go, but every piece of work you do, they would explain how to do it, and there was always help if you needed it.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
There is a good pay structure, good support for your training and exams, and very good career progression opportunities.
The Culture
Pretty much every week there was one or two social events. Normally went out for friday lunch, and quite often friday evening drinks for promotions, exam results etc, as well as played football and netball a few times and poker once.
Didnt live there, and socialising was fine as everyone bought me drinks!
there are a lot of nice bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity, and the mailbox is another good area about 5 minutes walk away.
There were social activities with work, but I had a long commute so not much outside of work, apart from the weekends.
