The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at Hewlett Packard Enterprise and have learned a great deal about all aspects of the company. My role was fast paced and customer facing; it provided me with a number of opportunities to challenge and develop myself as an individual and contribute towards the success of the company.
I worked with a high number of colleagues from varying teams during my time at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Every colleague that I worked with made me feel like a valued member of their team and the majority of the colleagues showed a strong interest in my placement year and future career plans.
I didn't have any significant issues whilst on placement at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, but my manager made me aware in my first month of the support network available at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. I was given effective guidance from my closest colleagues when I started my placement, this guidance helped me to get up to speed and become a valued member of the team.
I was kept busy for the majority of my placement year at Hewlett Packard Enterprise and would always have a number of tasks to keep me busy on a daily basis. I was especially busy when working on engagements with customers as I would take part in meetings and calls with the customer on a regular basis.
I was given a lot of responsibilities shortly after starting my placement year at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. The high level or responsibility that I was given provided me with the opportunity to prove myself to the teams I worked with. Examples of responsibilities included frequently liaising with the customer and contributing to meetings with/without the customer.
During my time at Hewlett Packard Enterprise I worked with networks on a number of occasions. Through this work I discovered that I have a keen interest in pursuing a career in networking. At the start of my internship I decided to enrol myself on a Hewlett Packard Enterprise networking course which enabled me to further develop my skills in networking.
The Company
The atmosphere in the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Office was professional, friendly and productive. Everyone was busy with their own work but would always be happy to lend a hand and provide support if you were having difficulties with anything work-related. Every Hewlett Packard Enterprise Office that I visited during my internship provided a comfortable environment to work in.
The internship was set up well which made it easy to get settled into my role quickly. In the first week of my internship I was provided with a Handover document which thoroughly explained the processes and tasks that required completing after joining Hewlett Packard Enterprise. In addition to this, I also set a number of short, medium and long term goals with my manager in the first month to achieve during my time at Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise offer a wide range of training in all areas of IT, the training is in the format of an online course. Most of these online courses come with an accreditation/certification exam so you gain a qualification. The courses are free to sign up to and interns are encouraged to sign up for any courses that interest them.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise run a graduate scheme, there is no guarantee of a place on the graduate scheme but completing a successful internship at Hewlett Packard Enterprise should help you stand out from the crowd when applying. There is a large variety of roles on the graduate scheme which make it a very appealing organisation for future employment.
The Culture
There is a large intern community at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, the intern community occasionally arranged social events and activities.
I cannot comment as I commuted to the office during my internship at Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
