The Role
Working for Triumph has been a true experience. I have gained so much in terms of knowledge but also how to apply that knowledge in a practical situation. I was chucked in at the deep end and treated as a full time employee. Over my 14 months I was given more and more work as my capabilities developed and this allowed me to further develop my knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of Triumph.
I loved working in the team I was put in and every single person valued my points and opinions.
My line manager always provided support when I struggled and objectives were set through the form of appraisals which gave me clear guidance on the direction I should be heading.
Working in Accounts is a very busy environment. Weeks 1 and 2 of the month are especially busy but even in weeks 3 and 4 I always had projects to be working on and data to be further analysing.
I was given lots of responsibility. I took ownership of OCOS commentary for month end, created the OCOS budget for FY17, completed two board reports each month which went into the board of directors meetings and the list goes on.
I can now use what I have learnt in my 14 months at Triumph and apply it to my research project in final year. Also the things I was unsure about in year 2, I now fully understand and hope to further increase my exam results.
The Company
The office can be quite a lively one at times. Although we are all working very hard, within each team their is still jokes and laughter which makes coming to work a lot more enjoyable.
Very organised. Clear structure given at the start of what we would be doing and where they would like us to be at the end. Very pleased.
Fairly well. Again line manager provided lots of training in terms of Excel and general accounting. Inductions around the business were also undertaken so I got to see lots of different areas which further developed my understand of how Triumph operates.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Healthcare/Dental
There is no graduate scheme as such, however, if a role arises which is suitable for a past placement student then that would be very appealing.
The Culture
Social scene was good. Group of people would go to the pub after work every Friday and on top of that work nights out as well.
I lived at home so no cost of living.
In the area pretty poor. Most people would go out in Leicester.
Didn't hear of any.
