The Role
The internship was a brilliant experience, i was offered so much responsibility! I was thrown into the deep and and immediately give clear deliverables, which was brilliant because it gave me a goal to drive for. I could not have wanted more from the experience.
I was very valued, i never felt like an intern and i was given parts of the business i was able to become an 'expert' in and therefore became a very valued colleague. I was especially lucky with my interaction with one of the biggest ecommerce companies in the world.
I was given plenty of guidance and structure to my internship. However like any experience it required me to give as much back as well. There would be times when work load was low, and that required me to go out and find work to do, however it was important when doing this to make sure the work would help certain projects.
I was very busy, a day would start a 8.30 and then finish at 6. I would be out of the office once a week with customers. There would never be the same task every day. The variety offered was amazing because it allowed me to develop different skills from, digital marketing to soft skills with customers.
I was given huge amounts of responsibility, i was able to move into the new business development, i opened two accounts in 9 weeks. This required being allowed to get in contact with many people outside the business and represent Groupe SEB. This was where i learnt the most, the analysis behind the deals and then finding a scenario that fitted both parties was the most challenging element.
My excel skills developed hugely and hopefully this will help with stats modules back at University, there is also the soft skills developed and presentation skills. I was fortunate enough to present to the whole company which i learnt a lot from.

The Culture
The social atmosphere was brilliant, every month there would be a event. There would be a free bar, food and entertainment. Most people from the office would come and all the interns would definitely make an appearance.
