The Role
I had a great time on my placement! I learnt and developed many skills, spent time outside the office and on compnay business and met a lot of new people both internally and externally to the company.
I got on pretty well with the people I directly worked with as well those who I didnt know very well.
My manager was approachable and friendly whilst remaining professional. He always made time to help you out when needed.
The only downside to the placement is that I wish I was more busy and had more time pressures.
Responsibilty varied depending on the task set. Some of the time I didnt have enough knowledge about understanding of the projects to be given a lot of responsibility.
They have developed considerably this year so far and will be of benefit in my final year. My verbal communication has improved as well as my understanding of the Microsoft Suite.
The Company
My department were all a great laugh and the office environment was relaxed but professional.
It was well structured with objectives and deadlines to meet every 6 months.
The company is particularly good at pushing personal development and funding is available.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
National Travel
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
Pretty good.
The Culture
The graduates/undergraduates organised social nights out and they have a tradition of pub lunch every Thursday.
The cost of living depends on where in the city you live, but you can even find a good deal in the more expensive areas by shopping around.
It is Bristol, so great!
Yes many, there are always charity sporting events organised by the company to get involved with. And being in a city there are many different sports and social clubs to join.
