    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I had a great time on my placement! I learnt and developed many skills, spent time outside the office and on compnay business and met a lot of new people both internally and externally to the company.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I got on pretty well with the people I directly worked with as well those who I didnt know very well.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager was approachable and friendly whilst remaining professional. He always made time to help you out when needed.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The only downside to the placement is that I wish I was more busy and had more time pressures.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Responsibilty varied depending on the task set. Some of the time I didnt have enough knowledge about understanding of the projects to be given a lot of responsibility.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • They have developed considerably this year so far and will be of benefit in my final year. My verbal communication has improved as well as my understanding of the Microsoft Suite.

  • My department were all a great laugh and the office environment was relaxed but professional.

  • It was well structured with objectives and deadlines to meet every 6 months.

  • The company is particularly good at pushing personal development and funding is available.

  • Pretty good.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The graduates/undergraduates organised social nights out and they have a tradition of pub lunch every Thursday.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost of living depends on where in the city you live, but you can even find a good deal in the more expensive areas by shopping around.

  • It is Bristol, so great!

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes many, there are always charity sporting events organised by the company to get involved with. And being in a city there are many different sports and social clubs to join.
