The Role
Enjoyed the project but lack of guidance from my manager has ruined my experience. Manager does not care about progress one bit, and a number of interns feel the same way who work in other departments with different managers.
Manager is non-existent and my mentor does not even know my project so I'm not too sure why a mentor is even in in place
I gave up my summer to work for Amazon and how I've been treated by my manager is disrespectful. No guidance & no opportunities to show what I can offer and in 7 weeks working for Amazon, I've probably spent less than 1 hour receiving help of my manager and mentor. It pushed me even further to find a company who are dedicated to employee growth.
Rarely nothing. With my project I've been waiting continuously on my manager to give me guidance. Managers actions show that he does not care about interns. When I've spoken to my HR manager & regional director (who were excellent) his attitude towards me improves but these are short term changes but not long term. My mentor does not even know what to do with me-I'm supposed to be delivering a project but he has admitted to not even writing a project plan-so when I do need help, I'm alone.
The more questions I'm given in this Survey the more angry I begin to feel, especially when considering how I took this internship to learn and contribute, more than anything else.
Degree has not helped, but previous internship experience as well as extra curricular activities have.
The Company
Typical work atmosphere.
I've seen the 13 week internship plan (which my manager wasn't supposed to show me). Nothing from the plan has been followed at all. If the plan was followed this experience could have been so much better.
Lol.......is this a trick question? No help, no development and no training. From the first day I've been put on a desk & when I do need help it's taken much much longer partly because of the lack of personal training and development, but mainly because of the lack of having a manager.
Flexi Time
Healthcare/Dental
WOULD NOT RECOMMENDED PEOPLE TO INTERN HERE OR DO A GRADUATE SCHEME WITH AMAZON ESPECIALLY IF YOU WANT TO LEARN & CONTRIBUTE.
The Culture
Absolutely shocking
salary was good and cost of living was not so bad.
Nightlife is what you expect in an area like this.
