    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I found the insight very enjoyable mostly due to the people I met both on the insight and already working at KPMG.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Despite only being there for a first year programme I found everyone at KPMG very welcoming and happy to help in any way and answer any questions I had.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Throughout the week we met a lot of different people, all of which were eager to help us in any way they could. The skills sessions we did involved a lot of encouragement, support and feedback which was useful.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Throughout the week we had to do a lot of presenting and networking, two skills which I will be able to apply to both my studies and more.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The week was very well structured. Each day had been planned out for us, from presentations to networking to work shadowing. The sessions in themselves were also very structured as there was always time for questions and applying any skills we had learnt.

  • The atmosphere at KPMG was very friendly and happy, everyone was happy to help us.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The effort that went into arranging the sessions for the week implied that they had invested a lot of time in us. Employees took time out of their days to come and talk to us and run sessions.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • All week we got to see what the day to day would be like at KPMG but the most useful day was probably the work shadowing.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight involved endless opportunities for networking which I think gave us the best understanding of the culture at KPMG. All employees were very welcoming and encouraging which gave a positive impression of the firm.

  • We learnt a lot about technology and what a career in it would entail which has aided me in determining my future career path.

  • Reimbursed on travel expenses


  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were loads of opportunities: a coffee and cake networking session, a dinner as well as meeting people throughout the sessions.

  • The networking sessions were very useful as I think the best way to learn about something is to talk to someone first hand who has experienced it.

  • Yes, we found out that there are many sporting and social opportunities outside of work.
