The Role
It's been a brilliant placement of which I have learnt so much and been given very real responsibilities - It felt as if I was a full time employee, not a student.
Despite difficulties with my management at times, I believe my colleagues valued my help overall and I received recognition for this.
Within my department I didn't always feel I had full support from my manager yet other members of the team were there to support me when needed.
Very. Most days I would always have something to be getting on with, with a wide scope of different duties. There were also busier times in the year in which I would have more projects to work on.
I was given so much responsibility that I would have never expected, accountable for large budgets and big management decisions. This varying from stock management all the way to total management of events.
The skills I have developed will absolutely help me in the future, not only from a work perspective but also my personal competencies have strengthened and will help me feel more comfortable in any future work.
The Company
The office atmosphere was mostly good, although certain times in the year were less so, during busier periods with pressure on the business.
Very well set up, placement students are well looked after and appreciated in the business.
I felt very invested in, lots of training and responsibility.
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
I would come back to the company depending on the role and team, it is appealing to come back because I now know how the business runs.
The Culture
Very good social scene within the student group, Less so within the team.
I commuted from home, in which the cost of living is high but was subsided by my family.
Reading is close by which is a decent place to go out, not the best. London is close too which is good.
Yes there were lots of opportunities within my role to attend events outside of work and on the weekends for extra experience.
