About You
Throughly enjoyed my 2 weeks as I was made to feel welcomed by everyone at the firm.
I was given real responsibility from day 1 and even when I sat in my corporate finance seat I was able to help out on the closing stages of a completion.
I was able to speak to anyone about particular issues and I particularly found my trainee buddies and supervisors always on hand even when they had their own work on.
A lot of the legal research skills I had learnt from my legal degree helped me significantly but the scheme taught me the business side of commercial law as ultimately you clients want clear answers rather than an academic commentary of the law.
The Company
Very well structured especially with the 'Focus On' sessions which gave us an insight into the different practice areas.
This was a genuinely a nice place to work as everyone was so approachable and willing to talk about their work.
It seemed clear that a lot of people who work for TW had began their training at the firm so it seems that the firm does invest quite a bit into personal training and development.
I was given real trainee tasks rather than just book work exercises to fill my time.
TW's culture was emphasised throughout the 2 weeks as we learnt that their 4 values that they hold are very close to how the company functions. We also appreciated the strategy of selling the whole firm.
It confirmed that I would like to go into commercial law
Everything Else
I was paid £550 for the two weeks which was plenty
We had partner lunches, social events with the trainees and people were always willing to offer their time to talk.
Very well structured and open to all.
They have a football team, firm choir, ski trips abroad and saw that they take part in events such as a 10k in Prague.
Very much so
