About You
I really thoroughly enjoyed the insight. The day was well planned and organised with a fantastic setting in which to have breaks and mingle with other law applicants and law professionals. I also valued the commercial awareness game, which gave me an enjoyable and educational experience. Drinks after the sessions with Trainees was also a plus.
I felt valued during my time at Taylor Wessing. Sarah Harte made sure we were well informed and prepared for the upcoming applications and it was nice that the firm partner took out his time go give us an insight into the business. This is reinforced by Partners during the Commercial Awareness game, which shows how much the firm value our presence on the day.
During the insight we were given a great deal of support in the sense of what to do and have on our applications for any future Taylor Wessing schemes. Guidance was also provided by Partners and their feedback on our commercial awareness presentations was much appreciated.
The Commercial Awareness game and drinks gave me opportunities to develop my networking skills. It also gave me insight into how to obtain commercial awareness, which is good information and knowledge for any future law scheme applications beyond my degree. It has already influenced my research and reading of the Financial Times, helping me connect the articles with legal dimensions.
The Company
The insight was structured well with enough gaps to take breaks. The sessions and timings were well organised as I did not feel that it was too early and definitely not too late. And there was indeed sufficient information provided within the day. It was also a good decision to include enough time at the end of the day for the commercial awareness game as we were given enough time to get into the day.
I honestly really enjoyed the general atmosphere during the insight day. Perhaps it was because of the weather but I really got a sense of the friendly culture that exists in Taylor Wessing. This may well be because of the affability of the trainees and partners who were more than willing to talk to us, but also, in my opinion, because of the other law applicants who were just as kind and supportive of each other, especially during the game.
As it was only one insight day, it's hard to say they 'invested' in me. But I certainly learnt a great deal from the game and my somewhat lack-lustre experience and feedback greatly helped in my personal training and provided me with the knowledge I need to succeed in the future.
The insight greatly helped in my understanding in what a day as a trainee at Taylor Wessing would be. The diligence and hard work ethic needed for the business days is emphasised, but also the amount of interesting work that is available is also heavily conveyed. Sarah was very informative in her lecture and trainees also supplemented with their own personal views.
Somewhat. The trainees and partners gave a great deal of information about their experiences and I certainly felt their passion by talking and interacting with them.
The day's content was greatly valuable in helping me decide on my future path and aspirations of being a lawyer. The game was a good insight into the legal thinking one needs, and I enjoyed the experience. The application advice session was equally useful and helpful in influencing my decision to hopefully start a career with Taylor Wessing.
Everything Else
I lived close enough to attend the day. But I appreciate the lunch and drinks.
Yes - there was the game ran by partners and also networking drinks after.
Informative and enjoyable.
Yes! Society sports and other fun drinks' events were highlighted.
Definitely. I had a lot of fun and met so many wonderful people with whom I am still in contact. It was an well-structured, informative, practical and enjoyable day! Taylor Wessing's insight definitely made me wish to apply to the firm in the future and I would recommend the insight and firm to anyone interested in law within the Tech industry.
