About You
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Simmons. Everyone was very approachable and the work I was assigned was real work that trainees would carry out on a day to day basis.
In my first week I felt that the work I carried out, particularly the research, would really inform the decisions that more senior members of the firm would make. When being assigned work I never felt patronised but at the same time I never felt out of my depth.
The first week I received the right level of support - not too little but also not too much. In the second week the nature of the department I worked in meant that there was little for me to help with, unfortunately.
All of the feedback I received helped improve the way in which I research and layout my work so that others can understand the points that I am trying to communicate.
The Company
There were lots of activities organised which gave us the chance to engage with a variety of different people at the firm and which allowed us to experience the firm as a whole.
The atmosphere was excellent. I really felt that I was part of a team and everyone who worked there seemed genuinely willing to help me out.
We had a number of workshops which helped us develop our negotiation skills and our personal brand. The networking opportunities also encouraged us to develop our networking skills.
I was able to see the work that the firm does and the ways in which different teams in the firm work.
I was able to see how people communicated with one another and see the 'type' of person that works at Simmons.
I am now 100% certain that I want to pursue a career in commercial law!
Everything Else
£300 a week.
There were lots of networking opportunities which enabled us to meet people from different departments.
The social events were really fun and gave us the chance to see how employees interacted outside of the work place.
I only know about a few of the societies and clubs available from hearing about them from trainees.
The experience was fantastic. A great firm with a great culture and great people.
