The Role
Extremely enjoyed it. It was really informative - confirmed my career path in tax.
Really valued; I was given complex/challenging client work from day one, and projects straight from the partners that made me feel like I was one of the team.
Fully supported. I was able to explore work independently, but when I needed guidance everyone, not just management, were there, and willing to help me.
Busy enough to be occupied most days, but never too much that I felt overwhelmed.
Great responsibility. I was treated as if I was an associate, not just an intern. I was the junior on some clients works.
We had a specific presentation skills training session that lasted a couple days. This was invaluable when delivering our presentations at the end of our internship. I also think the skills I learnt will be great for any jobs/class work that I do in the future that require public speaking. I really developed my confidence.
The Company
It was very friendly and welcoming. There was a real sense of family with everyone wanting you to do your best. There was a great social aspect in my team after work - real emphasis on spending social time together. But then, appropriate/serious/hardworking when in the office.
There were a few technical issues when it came to the online training portal. But otherwise, everything ran smoothly - those involved knew as much as could be expected.
We had a two day residential training session that was invaluable - really developed my presentation skills and confidence - I will be able to use the skills learnt here in the future, not just in work.

Very appealing, I have been offered a graduate training contract that I have every intention of taking.
The Culture
Great social scene - we went for lunch/out in the evenings together, and across all tax departments, not just the one I was in. We really supported eachother which was great.
London - so quite high!
We didn't really go out in the evening after work events. But the bars and pubs were really lively, most days of the week.
Loads, we had sports day, away day... Also would have liked to get involved in Choir, but this was coming to an end as it was summer. There are also lots of sports teams - netball, football - that you could get involved in if you wanted.
