The Role
It was fantastic! Supportive culture paired with challenging work - it was definitely an intellectually stimulating experience that I thoroughly enjoyed.
I saw clearly how the work that I accomplished contributed to the overall deliverable. I received great constructive feedbacks from my colleagues, and I definitely felt like I was valued.
My manager was incredibly attentive to my professional development (knowledge of the firm, technical capabilities, building up internal network within the firm). Despite at the beginning I was lacking in some technical skills, he was very patient with me and brought me to speed quickly.
I felt like it was the perfect balance. The project called for some occasional late nights, but I expected that from the beginning. Personally speaking, I thought that it perfect because it accurately reflected what the reality of the role entails.
Quite a substantial amount - a lot of my work was utilised in the final deliverable for the client.
This experience most definitely gave me an invaluable insight into the world of consulting and bolstered my technical capabilities. This understanding of the industry an the enhancement of my technical capabilities will definitely assist me in my degree studies and beyond.
The Company
The general ambiance of the office was quite face-paced and serious. However, with that being said, people are really kind and are always willing to engage in a fun conversation!
The general structure was quite well organised - however, I do wish that there were more chances for me to interact and engage with the other interns.
Within the team, I definitely felt like I was being trained and developed very well. Within the division, I also felt the same way. Training is always available within the firm, the key thing is taking the initiative to seek out these training materials

Company Parties/Events
With KPMG Global Strategy Group being an up and rising division, and the general demand for consulting increasing. It is quite appealing to join an in-house strategy division that will be growing organically in this high-growth industry.
The Culture
There were a few socials - but unfortunately I did not feel like there were enough opportunities to bond with and get to know other interns.
It is London - it is as expensive as it gets but it was expected!
Canary Wharf has tons of bars and restaurants - so it was quite a lively social scene. Nothing like Shoreditch, but it had everything that one needs for after-work social.
There were - but having only had four weeks with the firm, there really was only limited time to do other activities outside of the project work. I did however get a lot of chances to network with colleagues from other departments.
