The Role
fantastic company experience - being surrounded by friendly and passionate people made work really enjoyable
even the most junior opinions were valued as part of the team to develop learning and provide a new perspective on tasks in the team
superiors were really helpful and willing to meet and/or answer any questions I had as soon as I asked
busy enough to feel helpful, but at the same time not rushed off my feet with work. Sometimes I did not have enough work, but this was mainly caused by waiting for responses from client rather than lacking direction from my team superiors
as an unqualified member of the team I understand that it would be difficult to give me too much responsibility. Conversely, I did enjoy some of my own independence when deciding from which office I would work from on some days
invaluable working and office experience; as well as an introduction to accounting which will be necessary for my career aspirations, although less so for my final year of study as a Law student! I also developed confidence and a work ethic which I hope to take forwards and I think this will be invaluable both academically and beyond
The Company
fantastic social arrangements by the organisation. Especially for interns in my department, where every Wednesday was dedicated to some kind of activity with a mind to building relationships in the team or expanding our understanding of the role at graduate level. general atmosphere was therefore very vibrant, passionate and positive, which was infectious
clearly timetabled and organised activities, which we were continuously notified of via calendar invites and detailed itinerary emails. the first few days were spent on a comprehensive induction which was a great way to get my feet within the day to day workings of the role and to make a few friends before starting work - some friends which I hope I will keep for life.
I was given plenty of opportunities for training, being a part of the firm's wider department training days despite the fact that my placement would only last 6 weeks. it was apparent that the company really cared about my experience and development as an individual, and the feedback culture here is a great way of delivering that in a personalised manner, whereby team members support one another and provide help for honest constructive development as an individual

I left work at the end of every day and every week a little more convinced that I would very much like to remain a part of the organisation once I leave, hoping to secure a graduate role within this company - I have not experienced such a friendly and enthusiastic culture anywhere else, nor heard of any of my peers working in other companies who speak of their organisations so highly in this way
The Culture
people were keen to socialise after work and relax together, which was great for team bonding and strengthened the overall community atmosphere in the workplace. social events were well organised and published to those attending, with some really cool events - for example a ping pong bar, and darts pub trips.
I lived at home, so saved money in that area but the cost of commuting into London was (and is inevitably) considerable. The cost of my commute to client sites was cheaper than the cost of travel to main office, which was a bonus. If it had been above the cost of office travel, the company were prepared to reimburse me which they did when I had to travel for an intern training course, so my costs were never above an ordinary London commute.
London nightlife is very good. Of course, this was left to appropriate times (i.e. weekends rather than in the working week) so that I was still able to act professionally at work the next day! My only criticism of the nightlife and other social places in London would be the price of drinks and entry etc. - which was inevitably expensive (but only when the organisation had not already paid for some things on expenses!)
not much, but hoping to promote more in the future with an intern initiative to get office members more active as part of a good work/life balance beyond socialising in places like bars or restaurants. our initial fundraiser was a salsa class, but I would like to suggest something like a running club or tennis or football group to get people together in both an active and social context.
