The Role
I enjoyed my internship very much. All the people were great - team members, other interns and everyone I spoke to at the firm. People are very friendly and always willing to help. I was given work that was meaningful and my team really made me feel like I was part of them.
I was made to feel very valued by my team. They gave me meaningful work all the time and I was given feedback in order to improve. I sat in meetings and took notes and any contributions I made were taken into account. I felt like a proper employee and would love to stay here.
I was given a lot of support and guidance by my manager. He would assign a task for me to do, show me ways of doing it in the best way possible, and always had time for me if I needed to ask about anything. After I finished, he would give me feedback on how to improve.
It depends on the day. Some days I had a lot to do but always could take an hour for lunch. Other days I would only be busy for half the day and spend some time reading the news or something. There's always something to do though - building your network is very important and there's a lot of time to do that.
I was given a fair bit of responsibility. I produced a report which will be used by my team and by clients. Additionally, I attended meetings with key stakeholders. Although I wasn't given a large amount of responsibility, I was made to feel responsible for at least some things.
I definitely improved my research and report writing skills which will definitely assist me in my degree. Building a network is a key skill in life and is something that I developed a lot during my time here, and I feel like it will definitely assist me in my degree studies and beyond.
The Company
The atmosphere was great - quiet enough to work but not so quiet to feel tense. There was always chatter in the background but not too loud, and everyone is available for a chat. Overall I would say that the atmosphere is very relaxed, but I'd say it definitely depends on the department.
Unfortunately the level of organisation could be improved. I heard that some interns did not get much work for the first week and had not been assigned to projects, and some didn't have much to do in general. HR were good though in terms of organising activities so that was good.
I would say that they invest quite a lot on you, but obviously not as much as grads, who will be taking qualifications. We had a training day and had to take multiple online courses. On the other hand, depending on your team, your manager may spend a lot of time helping you and giving you feedback so I guess that counts.

Very appealing. Everyone gets a final interview in their last week with a partner and if you are successful, you get a place on the graduate scheme. Although the interview is quite intense, as long as you perform well on your internship I feel that there is a good chance that you can secure a place on the grad scheme.
The Culture
Yes, however we did have to organise events ourselves. A social was organised for us on the third week, as well as a corporate responsibility day and introductory drinks but for everything else we had to organise ourselves. This was more fun however as we got to decide what to do.
Central London, so very expensive.
Great, lots of bars and clubs in London, as well as other activities.
Yes, we had a corporate responsibility day and your team may take you out for drinks.
