About You
The vacation scheme was very well organised, allowing students to fully experience life at Nabarro. The social events were good fun and meant you got to meet many people from the firm.
I was given work by many different people in the team and felt my input was appreciated.
We had very comprehensive IT training and the buddy/supervisor system worked well. There was always someone I could ask if I needed help with anything. Graduate Recruitment were also very friendly and took the effort to get to know everyone individually.
I learnt more about Real Estate and the law related to the discipline than I did before I came. The knowledge and skills I improved on would definitely be helpful in a future career.
The Company
Very clear timetable, with a good mix of work time and social events, with many different people from the firm.
People were welcoming and approachable. The Vacation Scheme students all worked together and there was a nice atmosphere among us all.
The scheme was very insightful as 3 weeks in one department allows you to see what work goes on and how the team work collectively. The social events also allowed us to inquire more about life at the firm.
3 weeks is a good amount of time to get a feel for a place and the social events give you an insight into the culture and outlook of the firm. The breakfast briefings are useful in knowing about individual practice areas, as well as people's views towards their clients and their field of expertise.
The scheme gives you a real depiction of life at a commercial, city law firm and the type of work trainees are tasked with.
Everything Else
I was paid a set amount per week for the three week vacation scheme.
Lots of chances to meet people at the firm, from the pub quiz, to karaoke to the partner dinner. This was one of the best things about the scheme. Everyone always welcomed questions and offered to speak to us in more detail during the scheme, if students wanted to.
The networking activity was useful in gaining tips and also meeting other people on an internship. The social event calendar was varied but not too jam-packed.
The talks on CSR and outside of work projects were useful. We were also told about sport teams within the firm.
The vacation scheme is very well run and people are very willing to welcome you as part of their team. You can get insight into life at the firm and have the chance to meet lots of people.
