The Role
I enjoyed experiencing the work environment. There was a lot to learn and take in but I was given a lot of support.
Fitted in well to the team, I was included in tasks with the other team members, so I felt like a team member rather than just an intern.
My manager was very encouraging for me to experience as much of the company as possible. Encouraged me to work shadow in different areas, and was more than willing to help if I didn't understand something.
There were times when I didn't have much to do but this was due to the reliance on other people, e.g. waiting on replies. When this was the case I filled my time with training.
I had my own tasks and joint team projects which meant I had the opportunity to work as a team and also take hold of projects myself.
In terms of working in an office environment, this is something I can take whereever I go. Also, work I have carried out will help on my return to university where I am due to begin a module in international banking.
The Company
There was a good balance between work and social aspects. I attended 2 after work social events and got on well will all people in the office.
Organisation was good, with extra activities to support those on the internship, particularly networking events.
A lot of time was given over to LOB presentations to help increase our corporate awareness.
Company Parties/Events
There is the possibility of moving on to the grad scheme. I shall find out next week whether I have received an offer.
The Culture
Interns got on well, especially with the grads. Regular social events.
I have a house in the area already so for me it wasn't too bad.
Bournemouth provides a good night out!
You are notified of extra activities/societies etc that you can join alongside JPM.
