    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The internship at JP Morgan was wonderful experience. I have never had such experience before. They are investing quite a lot in the interns which is extremely important. Organising different events and trying to make you feel comfortable in the company from the first day. Cannot say anything bad to be honest and I have been thinking a lot about that.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The only reason I did not mark 10("Like Family") is because this is a workplace but not home. I can say that I was really valued by my team. If I was doing well I was always receiving positive feedback which inspired me to work even harder. Some of the e-mails I received from my colleagues were fantastic and actually made me feel like they are my family. They were always pointing out how valuable work I have done during my internship by giving me actual examples how I added value to different applications.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had amazing manager. Always there for me. Discussing my work, giving me different ideas, proposing me to become more autonomous. When I was asking for growing points the team members were always happy to provide such. I cannot find anything bad about my team.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There were always different tasks for me to do. I was given at least two tasks so I can balance between them and if I am stuck with one I can continue with the other one. I cannot say that being "too busy" is a bad thing. I think that the whole point of the internship is to keep yourself busy and try to learn more. That was my goal at least.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Considering that I was an intern I was given great amount of responsibility by taking full ownership of my tasks which made me feel valuable. I cannot go into more details here.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have developed in different directions. And every single direction will be extremely useful not only in my studies but later in my life. Technical knowledge, corporate awareness, communication skills, analytical skills.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Considering the fact that I was here to work, I cannot say that the fun never stopped. One can have fun for a short period of time but the general idea is to do your job and that's why I liked it so much. I would not like a place where I have fun but not doing anything. The atmosphere was great; all my colleagues were very friendly and helpful.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I can remember some issues with the technology before presentations but this is absolutely normal. In general, everything was extremely well organised. Basically covered and even exceeded my expectations in some cases.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • In general, I can see that JP Morgan is investing a lot in their interns and graduates. There is a compulsory training and a lot of training facilities available to us. However, just for three months we cannot use all of them. The most impressing thing to me were the senior speaker presentations. If I needed anything I was able to get it.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • It seems that they are very intereseted to hire us. I know if I have been offered a place next week. You can ask me then!

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, we had our Friday lunches together. The grads were organising different events for us. Not everybody was coming but this does not depend on the company. It's the people.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It was fine. I guess in London it would have been different, I was in Glasgow.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I was not really going out a lot. For the rare times I was out everything was fine. I do not really understand this question. My idea was to learn rather than being sleepy at work. When I was out with my colleagues it was fun!

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, I even attended some of them. Actually I have very good memories from those activities. Basically the social awareness is very well developed and that gives us the change to join some charity events which is great fun.
