The Role
I enjoyed the entire placement greatly and felt I learned a lot during it.
I felt valued by my colleagues throughout the year
My direct manager kept me on the level all the time and guided my work effort well.
My days were full of work for for the entire year, but I never felt overworked or burnt out.
I was given responsibility for several in-game features and content that would have been in the final product (Fable Legends).
I have not yet continued my degree, but I feel I learned a lot that will help with my future studies and work.
The Company
The atmosphere in both the offices I was in was extremely positive and supportive.
Microsoft organized the placement year very well for its interns, and provided opportunities to participate in additional projects,
Microsoft gave its interns several opportunities to learn and exercise skills during the placement year.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Employment prospects as appealing, depending on the studio.
The Culture
As I was placed outside of the main Microsoft headquarters I only had a small group of other interns with me, and as such we didn't get to take part the social activities with the rest of the group.
Quite good in both the studios I worked at.
I didn't seek out the nightlife during my placement.
As I was not placed at the main headquarters these activities were limited.
