    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Great people to work with Great work to do I belive, like with any internship, this always depends on where you end up in the organisation and who you are with, luckily for me both were spot on

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • From the moment I sent off the Application. Barclays gets it right from the very beginning, I felt valued from the assessment centre to the first day we started to the present day. I think it does come down to their values, people don't just know them off by heart they actually genuinely care

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Again, this goes back to my first point that it deffinately depends who's team you end up in. For me management on all levels were increadibly supportive and gave great guidance.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It fluctuated day-to-day as it would in a normal working envoronment but I was certainly never bored and left at my desk to do nothing. Some days you are very busy but again this is working life- and it makes the day more exciting!

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • This again goes back to the team you end up in and how your manager likes to deal with interns. I have been given lots of responsability which both puts the pressure on but has made the internship much more interesting and worthwhile.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • With this, during the intership i ended up doing things I had never done at uni. It deffinately broadened my skillest as a result. It deffinately helped with beyond much more than it did my studies, mostly it prepared me for working life which uni doesn't.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I am on the Barclaycard floor which i believe is a little more relaxed than the other floors in the building. The general atmosphere was a very friendly one, a great place to work. We have a lot of fun during work and there is always someone to talk to and bounce ideas off.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organised. HR were in constant contact with us and constantly setting up events and talks for us to attend which gave great added value to the internship. Everything ran very smoothly.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I wouldn't have thought that they could have done more in the short timescale i have been working with them. I guess they could have offered or run some courses i.e. excell sessions, but I bet if I wanted to go looking for some they would sort something out.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?

    National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would love the opportunity to work for Barclays and am trying hard to get one! I have to admit that I have not seen any other organisations past assessment centres but I couldnt imagine they would be much better than here.

    5/5

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
