The Role
I have really enjoyed my summer internship at Barclays. The things which made me most excited about it was the actual task I was given, which implied some real proper work to do.
I genuined felt that my colleagues valued me and tried to offer me the best experience as possible.
Whenever needed, my line manager and team-mates helped me or offered guidance on the issues I had.
I always had something to do. Sometimes it was necessary, not required though, to stay over schedule to finish some tasks. Generally speaking, there was a good balance of workload throughout the internship.
I was given a more than expected amount of responsibility and ownership of my work.
I am totally satisfied by the skills I have developed and training I have received during my internship. I have gained some great skills which aren't learnt from University and I have increased my work aptitudes, all which will pay nicely off beyond the internship.
The Company
Great balance between seriousness and relaxing times. I give an 8 out of 10 cause it wasn't all fun, and seriousness it is sometimes needed.
This is one and maybe the only bad thing about the internship. The workstations weren't all given correct rights to work for each intern. Therefore, the work was a bit affected and made in some way unrealistic differences between work done by interns during mid-stage.
More than expected. I was offered a great amount of resources, both physical and intellectual, for me to fulfil my tasks for the internship. I feel that they have really invested in interns.

It looks like Barclays is a great place to work which does't seem to differentiate between new and old employees.
The Culture
It wasn't perfect, but there were and are good scenes for social interactions between colleague interns.
I didn't look for places around the working site, as it is a bit too expensive for my own taste.
I didn't live around the area I am working, thus I didn't experience the Nightlife there. I assume it is closely related to the cost of living for the area. I give a 5 as I don't know a good answer for it.
Yes, there were. We had the chance to involce in a Citizenship scheme, we have paid premises for sports and also colleagues are friendly and like to hang out after work.
