  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • Very useful in general, great exposure to many different business areas and very friendly, approachable staff.

    • People were very supportive and took time to explain things to interns.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

    • Broad guidelines given, but managers don't have time to go into much detail and expect us to take initiatives and be pro-active, which is a good learning experience.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

    • Depended on the weeks. Some weeks went by very quickly, with many different tasks to complete but not too much pressure, others went by a bit slower since there was less activity.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    • A lot could go wrong if I did not complete my tasks in an accurate or timely manner. The appropriate degree of challenges and responsibilities was given to me, in my view.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • Very useful advanced Excel skills acquired, as well as relationship management and interacting with people, extracting information. Also some priceless general business culture and attitude that are transferable to any job.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • Very good moments with very funny people, but again it varies with the people who you have to work with, and different personalities. Generally very interesting people with a sense of humour.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?

    • Well organised in terms of how well the job was defined, but some problems in organising joint intern events, as my internship was in Luxembourg which is a relatively new location for interns in J.P. Morgan.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • There is a considerable investment in interns recruited within J.P. Morgan, since they also use the internship programme as a pipeline for future graduate positions. Impressive investment in new hires.

    • Many different opportunities available, rotation in different lines of business a distinct possibility once in the graduate programme.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • As active as it could be for such a small location as Luxembourg!

    • Reasonable costs.

    • Good places to go to in Luxembourg.

    • There was a lot of care in designing events for interns and graduates, and also collective activities for the whole Luxembourg office.
