    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The team was very friendly and the interns were given interesting work, representative of what we would be doing on the grad scheme.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The team were very welcoming, inviting us for drinks, and we were assigned a buddy to make sure we had everything we needed.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The buddy system was very helpful, having a port of call who was only three years older than us. There is also a counselling system, making sure you get what you want out of the experience.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was kept busy throughout the day, but rarely had to stay beyond 6.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • The level of responsibility we were given increased throughout the placement, until we were given fairly large chunks of project near the end.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The job area was not related to my degree, but the confidence in speaking to people, particularly on the phone, and experience in business writing will be very helpful in life,

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone was friendly, but worked hard in the office. There were socials after work and at lunch, which were fun.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Aside from some IT issues setting up, everything was fine/

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Our counsellor had goal setting meetings with us at the beginning of our internship, and then catch ups throughout to ensure we were on track to achieving them and getting what we want out.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    Working from home

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Good, there is a job for every intern.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The interns organised socials amongst themselves, and there were team drinks most weeks, but it would have been nice if there was an intern event organised by the company, as I have been informed there were in previous years.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is expensive for everything.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Lots of bars for drinks after work and restaurants etc.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • No, but I think this was partially due to lots of people being on holiday. There were drinks but I would have liked there to be more sports teams etc.
