    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • really challenging, great opportunities

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • worked in a really supportive team, my manager and team were really helpful and approachable

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • a lot - they encourage you to be proactive, but yet are still there for support and guidance when you need.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • we were told on the first day that this internship is what you make it - so if i found myself not busy, i'd go and ask for more work from the rest of the team.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • initially they trained me up on their BAU tasks, but as i continuted to prove myself, they gave me more responsibility until i was revenutally running a whole trading process.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I'm doing an English degree, so wasn't sure how relevant it would be - i've learnt a lot of technical things, but won't be able to apply them to my course! however, i think i can bring some of my core skillset from my course into the bank - they like people with analytical skills not necessarily those from financial backgrounds.

    2/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • great atmosphere - everyone was really approachable. although people were leaving throughout the summer in teams around us, that just gave more opportunity to get involved and get in front of managers.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • there had obviously been a lot of planning from the recruitment team, and although it wasn't seamless, it was a full intineray for the 11 weeks.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • we had a few days of induction, and then on the job training. there isn't a huge amount on the internship, they tend to invest more in your training once you're on the graduate programme.

    2/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • really appealling - the grad programme is rotational for my area and gives a great opportunity to experience different types of roles that i could end up doing in my career

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • yes definitely - the grad team arranged lots of events, and we often went out every Friday as well.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Pretty expensive - but then again, it's the middle of London!

    1/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • pretty great - but then again, it's the middle of London!

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • yes, both formally arranged as part of the programme and also with my team and with the other interns.

    4/5
