Infrastructure Engineer Review

I learnt so much on this internship - every day I discovered something different about programs or the company.

Everyone was so friendly and I was made to feel that the project I was working on made a massive difference to my team.

I feel that there was some lack of support by my manager - I got confused by who I was supposed to be reporting to and where my priorities were. I would have prefered to have one set person who I met with regularly and was more hands on with their support.

Whilst perhaps I was not playing a major role in BAU tasks, I was given lots of different projects that, once I was trained, kept me busy until the final week.

The systems I was working on throughout my internship were all live and used by people globally. Without question I was given more responsibility in this role then many others within the same company. I was even allowed into the Data Centre alone to help with the upcoming audit.

Without a doubt I have developed understandings of systems and people skills that will help no matter what role I go into next.

I believe in my office there was a lack of atmosphere and quiet. However at certain times of the day it picked up and everyone would be up for a chat at some point. After work was more appropriate for socialising.

I would say the organisation of the over placement was good, however I feel there needed to be better notification of events - the invites were sent out without enough notice.

I will be forever grateful to the opportunity I have been given her at JPMorgan. Not only did I gain valuable experience in an area I want to work in, I was paid for the pleasure!

JPMorgan are fantastic employers - I have learnt this from just 11weeks. They spend time and money to hire the best and once you are with them they double the effort in making sure your experience with them is as much for your benefit as the companies.

I think there was a great balance with all the interns - most Fridays we would all meet up, aside from the other events organised for us by the placement team.

I lived at home and commutted in. This was difficult for socialising but saved me a lot of money. The cost of living in London is very high and so for a summer job it was not feasible. Hopefully I will be able to find something if I am offered a graduate job.

If you want to go out, you will be able to find a variety of people and activities to go out with!!

There was an opportunity to get involved in charity runs and volunteering within areas such as community gardening. Outside of the company I am sure there are plenty of charities who look for volunteers.
