The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed my internship, great people and learn lots
My colleagues took the time to explain things to me and showed me examples and where I can find more informations. They actively encouraged me to take time out from everyday tasks to understand the concepts
Great support, especially through the meet the MD iniative
I was very busy and always had something to do. I managed to keep a good work / life balance, and I also had time to think about the products in more detail. I was never bored or checking the clock.
I worked on live deals and was very involved alongside my analyst.
The transferrable skills I developed include professionalism, attention to detail, staying organised whilst under pressure, product specific skills and market specific skills
The Company
The atmosphere was productive and I was able to concentrate and everyone was approachable for work related matters. However, I would prefer a slighly more friendly office in terms of non-work related chats.
Very well organised with great training at the beginning. In particular the learning sessions were very helpful to learn about the different departments across the bank.
Not only did my direct team invest in my development, the wider organisation did too. MDs take their time to speak to you and other departments try to encourage reaching out to them. HR department puts on great opportunities to meet new people and learn more about the wider bank.
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
They are very appealing as its such a successful and large organisation.
The Culture
Not really, its difficult when you work different hours.
Canary wharf socially isn't that great, but you can get tot the city pretty quick
Not great, would prefer to go towards the city
There are gyms etc around
