The Role
The internship was extremely enjoyable, with various social events throughout.
I always felt like my work was valued and important to the team. my colleagues were extremely helpful and would always take time out of their schedules to answer questions and explain work to me. I always felt included and part of the team.
My manager was extremely supportive, she constantly organised insight sessions and 1 on 1s with people from all areas of the company. she would also not hesitate to take time out of her day to check on me and give me feedback on work. Management were also extremely accommodating and keen for you to feel supported.
i had a good level of work throughout the internship. There were times when i had quite a lot going on and equally times where i was maybe slightly low on work, however i felt it was a good balance overall.
i was left to my own devices quite a lot which was nice. i would be given a task and then expected to carry it out to completion, asking for any support along the way if i needed it.
i feel like it has been exceptionally useful in the long term. While finance is not relevant to my degree, the financial knowledge i have gained and the experience at M&G will no doubt prove invaluable.
The Company
A very good work life balance with the occasional team drinks. The office atmosphere was always warm and everyone was extremely easy to get on with.
the internship was very well organised, i felt like everything was planned with the interests of the interns in mind. There was a good mix of social events, training sessions and feedback throughout.
i feel like M&G invested a lot of time and effort in me. over the course of the internship numerous people took time out of their day to explain business areas, processes and generally make me feel welcome. While there was not specific training, i have learn a lot from each individual in my team who took time to help me.
Subsidised Canteen
