The Role
Everyone has been very friendly and welcoming. We were given responsibility from the outset and encouraged to learn new things.
It has been uncommon to be given bad work just so the permanent employees don't have to do it. They are willing to take the time to sit and explain the bigger picture and how to do things that you have not done before.
We were given a very strong support system throughout the bank, from analysts to Managing Directors.
Some days were very busy and others were completely quiet but where possible they tried to find a balance, by having a dedicated 'staffer' to find you work and track your capacity.
I have been pushed to learn new things and given responsibility right from the offset
I do not study finance so the training does not directly assist my degree but transferable skills such as networking, working accurately, and taking responsibility and ownership over my work will help me in my degree and beyond

In Investment banking, there are a lot of chances to network and go to drinks with teams to get to know them. There are also intern-wide events throughout the internship
There are various networks that we can get the chance to get involved in as well as the JP Morgan run and other sports teams.
