  • Excellent. An internship provides the perfect platform into a career at the bank. It gives you a clear view of the careers available and you get speaking to so many people that share their particular career route. It was also a good chance to meet other employees and increase your network. You really get a deep insight into what it would be like to work for the bank and all of the opportunities available.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived in Chester where the cost of living was very reasonable for a city. My rent and travel was much cheaper than what I was used to so it was very cost efficient. The cost of socializing was also relatively cheap and there were plenty of activities at a range of price points so it was easy to find something to suit any budget.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife wasn't particularly great although it is really easy to travel to major cities such as Manchester and Liverpool if a better night life is sought. I made visits to both and had a great time. If quieter night life is what you are after, I would definitely recommend Chester and for any big nights out a trip to one of the major cities is easy to organize.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Lots of opportunities to get involved outside of work. I got involved in many including: a network to put interns in contact with senior employees in career areas of future interest; touch rugby tournaments; social meals out, intern events including a mid term event at the British museum where we had a private viewing of an exhibition.
