The Role
I truly enjoyed my internship, I was expecting it to be good having attended the assessment centre, however, it was really a fantastic experience. I have learned a lot about the business and I have gotten hands on experience regarding the role of HR.
From day one my team made me feel as a valued member of the team. I was greeted by a 'welcome' banner on my desk and they all very helpful in making my transition into the department smooth. Throughout the internship I feel like I have been valued because I have been given the opportunity to do different tasks and my colleagues have seem happy about the result. They always made me feel included and that my work had a positive impact for the team and the firm.
I had catch up meetings with my line manager where we discussed my progress and I received feedback. This was great as it gave me a sense of direction and I always knew what I was working towards. My other colleagues took turns in training me in various practises and programmes and throughout the 8 weeks I spent with the company they were always keen on helping out.
I was always very busy but it is because I thrive on having many things to do. Thus I see it as a perfect balance as it allowed me to plan my own work.
I would say balanced, I was given my own projects and that was great. I also assisted in some recruitment processes and liaised with staff from other departments.
I believe I gained hands on skills from how the work of HR works in practise, this is something which has truly inspired me and I will bring this with me when I go back to university.
The Company
Always amazing, my colleagues were always full of positive energy.
It was very well organised it was structured. I knew that I had a team project and individual projects and that made me understand exactly what was occurring and what was expected from me.
Very good
I would love to work at FDM after my graduation.
The Culture
Very good there is many different events occurring and in the office I worked we had the break out area.
