The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my 8 weeks spent working at FDM. I was given several projects and responsibilities throughout my time here and I've had great fun too!
Everyone I came across in the company, whether it was members of my team, employees from different departments or company directors, everyone was very welcoming and was really interested in what I was getting up to.
When I was set tasks they were always explained thoroughly and if there was anything that I was slightly unclear about or wanted to know a bit more information, everyone was very helpful and willing to help.
I would say that I had a nice balance between having plenty of jobs to be getting on with, but also not being overwhelmed with so much work that it were to spoil my time. I had a great balance between gaining plenty of experience within my department, but not feeling too stressed out about it.
I was given several projects to work on during my internship, of which I was given a decent amount of responsibility. This was great as I felt like my work and opinions were really valued by the company.
The knowledge and experience that I've gained during my internship with FDM will most certainly benefit me in the future. It has given me a clearer idea of the various areas of marketing and which specific areas I'm most interested in. I've also been able to utilize skills such as teamwork and communication skills when working in larger groups which will really enhance my ability when working in groups at university.
The Company
The atmosphere in the FDM offices is very social and friendly, with people always saying hi and making you feel really at home - even when you're not a permanent employee! The offices are super modern and sleek looking and the London centre overlooks the River Thames, which is absolutely awesome!
The internship was extremely well organised. On our first day we had an induction where we met the other interns, our individual teams and also the recruitment team. We were also shown around the offices and informed a bit more about the company. At the end of our internship we presented to the board which was exciting and then met with members of the recruitment team to finish off our time here. Overall I felt that everything was very organised and ran smoothly.
I feel like the work I've done whilst being at FDM will have a real value to the company in the long run. Especially the intern group project we worked on whilst being here. On our departure from FDM, I have been offered the opportunity to become a Student Brand Ambassador, so will still be able to have regular contact with the company and maintain the connections I've made.

I think that in the future I would definitely consider FDM as an employer, particularly because of the lovely people and social environment here. It's certainly a huge aspect of FDM's culture and something that would attract Graduates.
The Culture
All of my fellow interns were really sociable. We went out for drinks regularly after work which was really nice to be able to talk to them outside of work and build stronger relationships. I also did a lot of socializing with my team, going out for meals and drinks on special occasions.
I was based in the FDM's London centre, so as you can imagine, the prices are sky high if you want to go out for drinks etc. However, I found that going out once or twice a week or a drink or two hardly breaks the bank and it was certainly worth it to meet all the wonderful people I have!
The London nightlife is great. You can go out any day of the week and it's guaranteed to be buzzing! Sadly, this comes with a price though!
During my internship, there wasn't really any external opportunities to get involved with other than going for drinks with colleagues and being offered the role as Student Brand Ambassador afterwards. To me this didn't really make much of a difference though because I really enjoyed the time I spent working.
