The Role
Many of the colleagues would provide me with work which they genuinely needed completed and were very thankful. However, some of the time I was given boring admin work which added no value, simply because the colleagues felt that they could delegate the boring tasks to the interns.

My line manager was always able to help me with any queries and was very supportive, as were many other colleagues. I also liked the ability to be able to work independently with the blanket of support that was my manager’s supervision and academic support.
On a daily basis the majority of the time I would have work to complete all day. However, sometimes I would have to hunt for the work to do myself and other times my workload was very intensive. All in all, maintaining a high workload was engaging.
I would rate this 10 out of 10 as I was given responsibility for many different projects. I was required to complete client strategy plans which were then utilised by the relationship directors in client meetings. For any project I was assigned I was allowed to complete it the way I desired.
Although the skills and training received will be of no use to my degree (Theoretical Physics), however the knowledge and skills I have picked up will be of definite use for applications and use in any future career I pursue, providing it is aligned with the banking sector.
The Company
I would rate this an 8 out of 10 due to the atmosphere being fun and energetic, with all colleagues participating in fundraising events and generally being chatty and accommodating. We went out for meals on people's birthdays and there were also sweets and treats brought into the office by colleagues on special occasions, providing a sense of togetherness.
Strong setup. It was evident from the beginning that a lot of time and money has been invested into the emerging talent scheme. There has been a great support from everyone and even whole departments dedicated to accommodating any inquisitions regarding the internship programme. Training webinars were also provided.
Anything I wished to pursue in terms of careers and general curiosity, I was given access to. My manager provided with me the expertise and training to complete a financial awareness course as well as increasing my general business acumen through a pragmatic environment. Welcome webinars hosted by the emerging talent scheme were also a great insight and gave me all the training I required.

Almost all interns are offered a role within the company once they graduate with such a variety of roles and a large room for personal and professional growth and development. The organisation is growing continuously and looks an appealing place to work as a graduate. I would rate this 10 out of 10. I have been granted a role with the bank and have even had the opportunity to switch between different roles.
