The Role
I enjoyed my Placement year at ProspectSoft the skills and knowledge i have learnt will help in my final year back at university. My placement has helped me shape what i want to do in the future
My colleagues listen to any ideas or suggestions that you have and they make you feel valued and part of the the family not just a placement
Upon starting my placement i received a months training to help prepare me for my role. After the months training my manager and colleagues were always willing to answer questions and help if needed.
I was busy on a day to day basis as there is always work needed doing
On my placement I was given some responsibility with designs. Sometimes some projects were just left to me to complete and then pass them onto there Project manager once there completed.
My skills that i learnt this year are relevant to my degree as my degree is my job title meaning all the skills i have learnt will directly help me and improve my final year work.
The Company
The general atmosphere in the office was welcoming and was always friendly no matter the day. There is always some kind of fun happening in the office.
The placement was well organised from the months training to the end of the year there was a structure in place to know who to talk to if there are any issues or problems.
Every year the company invests a lot of time and training to help the new placements get to know the company and get them the skills they need for them to do there jobs. There are reviews throughout the year to let managers know how the placement is going and if you need any training in any areas.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
To be offered a job with them would be very appealing there a small company with a lot of great staff and i would love to be offered a job in the future after my degree.
The Culture
Yes there are plenty of things to do outside the company from board games once a month to sports activities once a week. There are also plenty of company events throughout the year like a Company BBQ.
I lived in Oxford for my placement year so it is pretty expensive on the income i was on but i always had money to go out and do activities.
There isnt much nightlife where I work but where I lived in oxford there was always nightlife.
Yes from games nights to sports after work. New ideas are also welcome and if people are interested they tended to happen.
