The Role
I got a lot of responsibility really fast and although this was stressful I learned quickly and became a member of the team that added value and this allowed my colleagues time to continue their own development.
I felt very valued, I took on three platinum clients by the end of my 10 weeks and this lightened their work load significantly.
I had occasional meetings with my manager but she let me be independent and take what I wanted out of the internship. She encouraged me to take on more work and push myself to give process improvement ideas for the systems we were using.
Extremely.
I took on three of our most important clients and was their port of call within LBG. I sorted our all their queries and problems and had to build a relationship with them.
I gained confidence that I was a fast learner, very adaptable and could add value to any team I join. I learnt a lot under pressure. I received Lean Six Sigma training and learnt how to use the processing systems my team utilised daily. This had limited association with my degree but working with numbers and statistics and needing an analytical mind were the main overlaps.
The Company
Official and hard-working as everyone is very busy.
There was some confusion as there were some people who got the internship through contacts and their contracts were slightly different. This meant that I was mixed up with this group of interns and had to attend their events even though my manager wasn't very aware of them. I ended up doing a lot of things for people that my manager was unaware of or confused about why I wasn't doing my BAU tasks. But the on=boarding team were very helpful and friendly and organised the interns and socials nicely.
The company invested in me as much as I asked it to. The development opportunities were all there if I pursued them. You have to decide what opportunities you want to take and what people you want to talk to.
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
Quite appealing.
The Culture
Yes. Interns and grads in my office were who I mainly socialised with but there group scheme organised some events and other interns organised some events. You can pick and choose which events you want to go to and make sure that you're talking to other interns to find out about certain events.
Expensive. I was in London.
Good. I was in London.
A few insight days and charity events. I went to a marketing networking event with SapientNitro.
