The Role
I really enjoyed my internship. I felt motivated by doing the right thing for customer. I am usually happy when I am able to make somebody else happy and Lloyds Banking Group offered me the best opportunity for that. I enjoyed working here because I knew that every successfully completed task could be an improvement to the service delivered to the customers.
I was part of the Cards Team, Consumer Finance, Group IT. The team was amazing. I had the chance to attend a Team Inset Day in Cardiff and meet all the members. They manage to maintain an open and positive environment, so I got integrated easily. All my colleagues were approachable and willing to help. They really supported my development during the 10-week placement.
Fantastic! My manager presented me in detail every information I needed. She supported me in completing my scorecard and a personal development plan. Also she was willing to respond to any question I had and work with me on the more difficult tasks.
There was a lot of new information to digest and I have got tasks that helped me go through that information. But I have also got enough time to attend events/ activities (e.g. Toastmasters - public speaking; Digital Espresso) that contributed to my personal development. All in all, within my team I found the perfect balance between work and life.
As an intern I do not think it was possible to take full responsibility in just 10 weeks. However, this internship certainly taught me how to become more responsible, take ownership and every time think about the impact created by my actions.
The skills I developed here will certainly help me in everything I will do from now on: I got business acumen by completing a project about the future of credit cards, I improved my public speaking abilities by attending weekly courses, I expanded my analytical skills, time management and communication abilities.
