The Role
It was a great introduction to finance, especially given that I had no clue how it really worked. The work culture could not have been better, people are genuinely nice and ready to talk with you (however senior they are!)
Colleagues all around the business have been very nice, helpful and supportive. Whenever I had a query, they were at the ready to help me out.
My manager was very helpful. She was giving me clear guidance and targets while leaving me to work out the details as I saw fit. And if I needed any kind of clarification she was always here.
Between the projects, the meeting and the training sessions, it is always a busy day. But you also have a very nice work-life balance, as most of the office usually leaves between 5 and 6pm every night. It is therefore a place where you work hard but where you also have a life outside of the office.
I was given just the right amount of responsibility given my level of expertise. This was not too overwhelming but the tasks I was completing still mattered to the running of my team.
It really gave some knowledge on how the asset management industry works, the kind of challenges it faces and how it fits within the wider financial sector.
The Company
Great atmosphere, people are very friendly.
Very well organised. When I came in, my manager had a roadmap with clear objective for me to complete within my eight weeks of internship.
They really did. We had general and more commercial focused training sessions that really gave us insights as to what the business does on a daily basis.
Subsidised Canteen
I hope I will get a job but you never know.
The Culture
Yeah it was a lot of fun, We had many things going on after work.
As it is London, the cost of living are quite high but we are very well compensated.
London, what else to say?
Yes, that's the great thing about London.
