The Role
Was made to feel part of the team and produced meaningful work which has been used by the group, including branches and head office. I sort of 'fell in' to the work, however, and found it by talking to another member of the team, not part of any plan.
Yes - I was welcomed with open arms and made to feel really valued and part of a team. I was treated like any other member of staff and the only times I knew I was an intern was when they refused to let me get a round of coffee in!
Completed balanced scorecard with weekly 1 to 1s to discuss progress and create next steps to stretch myself.
Days would vary, but very rarely did I have to work longer than my 9-5 set hours (although I usually ate lunch at my desk).
Was given set tasks and pieces of work which were my responsibility to produce to high standard, often then needing presenting to a group. Obvious need for permanent colleague assistance in getting approvals etcetera prevented 10 rating.
Development in the office helped me grow as an employee and learn a lot about myself, my strengths and weaknesses. The formal development curriculum of webinars, however, added little value, and was more of a talking shop.
The Company
My team was excellent, mixing work fun and banter with getting on with real work. I never felt anxious about asking a question or for help and really did feel part of a team. This included socialising outside of working hours and having a leaving do organised.
Getting here etc was fine, however there were some problems. IT did not work for two days, there were issues with a lack of clarity around what was needed from a monitoring and referral point of view from me and my line manager.
Yes - I was given the means to work from home to allow myself to have flexible working.
Flexi Time
Working from home
Excellent workplace with great development opportunities and perks. Just need to consider whether the company is the right place for me.
The Culture
Very good - there was enough people so that everyone could find the happy medium of however much they wished to socialise.
London prices
It being London it was easy to find the nightlife you wanted, although there being that much choice could lead to some indecision and arguments about where to go.
