The Role
The HR internship with Standard Life was highly enjoyable. There are many training sessions giving you the chance to develop yourself and the skills that you have. The people from the company are open and welcoming and always give you the chance to be part of their team and show you what its like to do their job.
The atmosphere and culture at standard life is absolutely amazing, and everyone makes sure that you are welcome and the work you do is valued by their team.
My manager was always there to support me with my project, as well as providing feedback on how to improve, which is very important in an internship
Given a significant project to complete over the 10 weeks. This project was an important piece of work for the company who is beginning to expand globally

For HR internships there are quite a few opportunities going forward, whether that be work experience or grad jobs!
The Culture
As part of the internship you get free accommodation, living with all the other interns. This was really great because it meant you got to know people you lived with and lived near you really well and there's was a big sense of community and enjoyment
It got quite expensive over the Edinburgh fringe because there were many shows and events to go too and places seem to put up the prices!
Night life was really good. Always something going on every weekend and every so often drinks after work with the other interns and colleagues!
Quite a few opportunities. There are social cubs in Standard life that you can get involved with, including the wine tasting club and the bowling club. All really good ways to network across the business and have some fun!
