The Role
I was given the opportunity to experience lots of different areas of the bank which is what an internship should be all about.
Almost every person I have met has been so warm and welcoming and my immediate team have been like extended family members.
I was worried I wouldn't have stuff to do but I have been busy doing meaningful things for the entire internship.
I have had projects to work on by myself or in a small group that were given deadlines and needed to be done by a certain time and date.
I have learnt a lot about talking to people. I have also learnt a great deal about how big companies operate and the systems they run by, how the heirarchy works and what makes them tick over day to day.
The Company
We have had events running throughout my internship which I really didn't expect to see happening.
I knew what I had to do from day one and have been supported in trying to complete it.
They have paid a lot of expenses to give me the opportunity to travel to see different parts of the business and I have been given the opportunity to join training calls and development sessions but no paid for courses or training (which is fair enough really as I am only here for 10 weeks).
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
There are opportunities to join the graduate scheme and they have set this out quite clearly so that you know what you have to do and by when.
The Culture
It has been great. Most the interns live together so we meet up almost every night to chat, go bowling or sometimes even go out.
The accommodation was piad for so that is a big chunk of cost that is removed. Other living costs and socialising is just like anywhere else so there is no complaints.
It was good. I haven't experienced it too often but it was fun when I did.
In the local area there is lots of sights to go see and opportunities aplenty to keep you busy.
