The Role
Excellent ! It was a very interesting experience. I have been involved with very generous and supportive colleagues and people from other lines of businesses . Everyone was here to help and advice us in our day to day activities. The company has a great culture. I have definitely found a fit within it.
I was really valued, my opinion has always been heard. My team member always took a large amount of their time to teach and coach me. My team are very close and I was always invited to after work drinks, team lunch, and team events. We worked together and had fun at the same time, so I can only thank them on this.
Many persons within my team and other team were involved in guiding me in what I had to do. I always knew where to go when I had questions and very clear guidelines on what was expected from me. I was always given interesting tasks. My manager always gave me feedback after daily standups and sprint reviews, which helped me grow as a person.
First weeks were not busy as we had to wait for access to use the software. But After the 3rd week the balance was really good. I came in at 9 am and left at 6 pm everyday. We had weekly networking events, intern lunch or team lunch planned. Otherwise as the work was interesting I was never bored.
A lot. The first 5 weeks was my Intern project. It was a proof of concept for a real incoming project that my team wanted to implement. And they are now actually working on what we have done. The next 5 week I have worked on my own on team daily activites and all my 3 projects have been pushed to production.
I came in as an Engineering student with not much experience in programming, and I am now completely independent in this field. This will greatly help me for my studies and programming activities. But also I have acquired personal & human skills on how to deal with teamwork, how to behave and how to react in emergency activities.
The Company
Very fun. Everyone is friendly. Everyday, member of my team or other in the office brings cakes or sweets for the people here. GMOT held a lot of networking event like 'Mix and Mingle' or 'London Monthly' which helped us network and meet people outside the office. Interns in my team were also really nice.
Very well. All the HR events were a lot of fun. The structure of my projects were very well defined and everything was organised. Moreover, it was flexible. I have asked my manager to arrange some team activity aside the project and it did happen. So I would say, the internship was better than expected.
They have invested much more then expected. Everyone spent tremendous hours of their time pair programming with me, meeting me and coaching me. We had a lot of trainings and presentation from very senior and bright employees that spent time with the interns for our questions. This was a unique experience..

Well personally, I wish to be offered a full time position. As I found a fit in the company as a whole. The culture is great and person I have met were unique. My team, HR and manager were all supportive. Meeting people that went trough the same program and now have an established career is very appealing.
The Culture
Very good. We had daily meet up with other interns. We did JP Morgan challenge together. I had always things planned with them outside work hours. My team also planned a lot outside work for social activities.
Quiet expensive for a student. The compensation was good by the bank but lunch in the area is not cheap. Transports and accommodation within London are expensive.
Very good. I met with my team or interns every Friday for after works drinks and dinner. It was awesome !
A lot. Touch Ruby, Running challenges, Pizza making, pub quiz ...
